I absolutely loved this book it's a great start to what's sure to be a gripping read especially for Valentina who has lost so much since the death of her mother and it doesn't seem to get any better when he father arranges her to marry a vile man named Sal but she needs to save herself and asks Adrian to help her get away from her dad and Sal and trusting her instincts may be the only thing that saves her.


Adrian for me is an illusive character we know he can be a dangerous man but he hides it so well to protect Val from his ruthless lifestyle but for her he's soft and affectionate. He only has eyes for Valentina and it really does show in how far he's prepared to go for her.


A great mafia book with so much blood and chaos with empires to build you get a powerful feel for the families and what's set to become especially with the cliffhanger that left us needing book two.

J.L Beck and Monica Conwin wrote a fantastic dark storyline.
