Thrown together on another assignment, anger, frustration and jealousy are at the forefront of Jake’s emotions. Will Jake convince Haven that he really cares or will he let her go as she insists he must?

Nikki's 5 Star Review
We pick up part 2 of What The Lightening Sees exactly where we left Jake and Haven in book 1 after she overhears Jake's conversation with Robert. Feeling hurt and betrayed will she allow Jake the chance to explain, that what she thinks she heard was not as it seems. Is their relationship over before its even had a chance to begin? Jake and Have are quickly becoming one of my favorite book couples the more i read the more I like them. Haven has trust issues and Jake has been a player most of his adult life, neither have ever had a real relationship but are they  just what each other needs to change that or will a bombshell for Jake change everything they are working towards.
Another fab read from Louise but i did find myself shouting at my kindle as she leaves us with another cliffhanger she is quickly becoming my cliffhanger queen :)

Blog Tour - Wounded Souls Series by Amanda Lanclos

Title:  Irreparable, Inconsolable, Unbelievable
Series: Wounded Souls
Author: Amanda Lanclos
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: Available Now

In one day your life can go from amazing to total distruction and for me it’s going to change forever. Who am I? My name is PFC Jameson Carter and I am a United States Marine, or I was until a bomb detonated and took half of me with it. The only thing that kept me alive was the woman I had waiting back for me at home.

How do you go from being a complete person to being half of something? For me, I have help, but how can I be anything more than half of what I used to be? Then when the one person you count on, the person you lived for leaves you how do you react?

For Samantha Blalock life is easy, she helps repair people like me, the people who lose limbs. Something isn’t the same though, she’s changed. See I’ve known Samantha for years. She’s hiding something. Can we help each other through these trying times in our lives? Or does the fact remain that we are both irreparable?

Nikki's 5 Star Review

This Debut book from Amanda Lanclos was amazing it had me from the very first page I just couldn't put it down. The main character Jameson has been through hell fighting in Afganistan seeing things no-body should have to see, after coming home due to injury things get no better for Jameson with the breakdown of his relationship. Then in walks Samantha his childhood best friend and immediately things start to look up. Samantha has her own demons to deal with but together they can get through it. This book was a fabulous read and definitely worthy of 5 stars.

My name is CPL Blake Johnson, and I am a Marine. You would think that my life was easy because of my status, but you couldn’t be more wrong. War is hell on earth, the things you see and the things you feel. My life is haunted by the things I saw while on deployment. I will never be able to see the light fading from the people’s eyes I murdered. My life is now determined by my mind, depicted by sounds, colors, and things that make me less of a man. I wake up every day to fears of what will trigger the turmoil that sends me into overdrive. If it weren’t for one woman, I would have no sunshine to wake up to. Nothing to keep me out of the hell hole I have dug for myself. Anna has her own demons as well, but together we may find out that we are not as inconsolable as we both feel.

Nikki's 5 Star Review

Book 2 in The Wounded Souls Series is Blake and Anna's story. We first meet  Blake in book 1 when he was saved by his best friend Jamison Carter when a bomb exploded while they were serving in Afghanistan as Marines, Jamison lost both his legs and they saw the rest of their group killed. Blake feels guilty that he survived while others didn't, or were injured, he is suffering from Post Trumatic Stress Sydrome but instead of getting the help he needs he turns to drink and sex with women that he doesn't even know, then he meets Anna, Jamison's ex fiancee Mary - Beth's best friend. But when Anna's world is shook by tragedy can they pull each other back to the here and now and both get the life they deserve.

Another amazing read by Amanda Lanclos.

My name is Skylar Montgomery, and I always promised myself I would never end up like my mother. Relying on a man that thought beating a woman was the only way to go, and for a while there I hadn’t ended up like her. Now, at twenty-one years old, I have become just like my mother, until that one night. I left, made my way to my grandmothers in the small town of Hickory and I never looked back. Things couldn’t be better in this small town, until he walks into my life, and pretty much turns it upside down.

Who is he? Luke Blalock, all American country boy with beautiful blue eyes and blonde hair that could make any girl swoon. He’s a gentleman, but he also attracts all the girls, and I just don’t know if I can compete with it. I do what I have to, to make ends meet; but when and if he finds out what it is I do will he still look at me with the desire I see in his eyes, or will he find it unbelievable?

Nikki's 5 Star Review

Luke and Skylar both have secrets but from the moment Luke lays eyes on her he is determined she will be his. Skylar tries to resist Luke but his perseverance wears her down. They are made for each other but what will happen when their secrets are revealed. Another fab read from Amanda Lanclos this is definitely a series you don't want to miss.

I blame myself. He wasn't to know. I blame myself. It wasn't her fault.
I don't want to need him. I hate that I want her.
There's no easy solution. There's no going back.

Nikki's 5 Star Review
I'm a new reader to Nikki Groom's writing but i'm so glad i took a chance and read this book it was a great read and i devoured it in 24 hrs. Against the Tide hooked me from the first page. It's the story of Finn and Megan. These two have been eyeing each other across a nightclub floor for a good few weeks on one particular night they finally give in to each others desires but this sets off a spiral of events that neither of them ever expected. I love the love/hate relationship they have at first, mix that in with the flirty banter between them and it makes for some scorching HOT scenes. Parts of this book had me laughing out loud but parts also had me in tears, overall this book has something for everyone and gets a fabulous 5 stars from me and i will definitely be reading more of Nikki's books.
Excerpt
Marc calls for more shots right about the same moment I scan the VIP area and my eyes lock on to her. After three weeks of not being around, she’s here. The girl that’s got me all kinds of flustered. Always with that guy who looks like a total wanker with his floppy hair and pretty boy face. Who is she? Why can’t I look away? I’ve been waiting to see her since the last time she was here. I've looked for her. I’ve wanted to feel the electricity that fires off her when she holds my gaze, and every week that she’s not been here, I’ve been disappointed. We haven’t spoken, haven’t even exchanged smiles. There’s just something there. It’s like we seek each other out and I don’t know why. It’s turned in to a habit I like more than the ecstasy I take. “Hey Finny boy, tequila, you in or you going for a piss?” Kyle calls out behind me loading his question with the silent search of my intentions for this evening. I glance back at him, answering mindlessly, “Yeah, man.” When I look back, she’s still there. Looking. Just looking. No smile. No scowl. Just looking at me like there’s something compelling her to do so. The light catches her lip ring and my eyes roam the length of her body like a hungry man that’s been starved for weeks, no, months. She gives off something that makes my hormones run rampant, like an unbalanced teenager. Only I’m fully aware that I’m a grown man and I know exactly what I want to do to her. God, what I would do to her. She’s dressed in a little black dress, and I mean, little. It’s simple, but the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen. It hugs her tiny, perfect waist, and only just covers her arse. Her legs, her perfect legs, which, even though she isn’t tall, look just long enough to wrap around my waist … “Here.” Harley nudges my arm and hands me a shot of tequila. I take it mindlessly, all the while still locked on to the enigma on the other side of the room. Then she does something that floors me. She nods, winks, and raises her glass to me across the room. For a second, I’m stunned at the action. We’ve been watching each other for weeks, no words, no actions, just the silent knowledge that we both know we are looking at each other. Now she’s broken the silent pact, what does that mean?

Excerpt
There was a long line outside the club, and I groaned as we joined the end. “Maybe we’d better go somewhere else,” I sighed, not relishing the idea of waiting around outside. But Kes just walked up to the doorman, slipped him a twenty, and we were waved in. Kes wrapped his arm around me as the hostess led us to table on a raised platform near the dance floor. A waitress came over immediately, and Kes ordered more champagne and water for himself. I wondered how much money he’d laid out to get the five-star service. I’d never seen this side of him before and it intrigued me. “Wanna dance?” he whispered, nuzzling my throat. “I think I’m a bit drunk,” I admitted with a laugh. “Just hold onto me.” “Sounds like a plan.” The music’s thumping bass line matched the rhythm of my heart as Kes pulled me toward him. My arms wrapped around his neck, winding a lock of his hair around my fingers. My body was pressed flat against his, not even an inch between us. His muscular thigh pushed between my knees as we swayed to the music, his hands resting on my hips, his long fingers almost meeting in the small of my bare back. Between the champagne, my heels, and the closeness of Kes’s hard body, I felt off balance. He steadied me between his hands, his gaze flitting between my breasts and my lips. His face was stern, his eyes flashing black with need, and I felt the solid length of his erection against my hip. The pulse of the music was in my blood, which Kes was slowly bringing to the boil. Our lower bodies pressed together, and I arched away from him, leaning out so my long hair swung down my back. I felt one of Kes’s hands move from my hip to wrap my hair around his fist. He hovered over me, his breath hot on my chest. “I fuckin’ love your hair,” he growled. A bead of sweat trickled down the side of his head, and I pulled myself in close again to lick it. Kes’s eyes fluttered closed, then opened again quickly. I slid my hands over his chest and stomach, feeling the muscles tremble under my touch. His t-shirt was damp under my fingers; he’d long ago pulled off his long-sleeved shirt and tied it around his waist. “You wanna get some … air?” he asked, his tongue licking up the sweat at the base of my throat. I had to swallow several times before I could reply. “Okay.” My voice sounded husky. He grabbed my hand immediately and led me from the dance floor. I had a quick glimpse of Zef and Mirelle joined at the lips, and I smiled to myself. Kes steered me through the crowd until we reached the hallway that led to the bathrooms, but he kept going, finally pushing through a door at the rear of the building. We were in a dark alley where crates of empty bottles were stacked up. It smelled of beer and trash, making me wrinkle my nostrils, but then Kes’s mouth was on mine, and it was the scent of my shower gel and Kes’s clean sweat that surrounded me. I wrapped my leg around his waist and ground against him. He caught my knee with one hand and pushed me backwards. My bare skin hit the rough brick, and I cried out. “Shit!” he muttered. Then he picked me up, turning around so his own back was braced against the wall. “Kes, please!” He chuckled lightly. “Are you begging, Aimee? Is the good little schoolmarm begging for sex in a dirty alley?” “God, yes,” I moaned. A surprised laugh stuttered out of him. “Shit, really?” “Yes! A thousand times yes!” He hesitated. “This isn’t you; it’s the champagne talking.” I fisted his shirt and pulled him toward me. “It is me, Kes. It’s the girl who let a strange boy climb in her window; it’s the 16-year old girl who stroked you until you were hard while we lay on the grass at the back of the carnival field; it’s the girl who gave you her virginity, even though she knew that you were leaving in a few days. The girl who’s been lost for years, sleepwalking through her life. Until I found you.” He stared into my eyes, searching for any sign of doubt. Satisfied by what he saw, he placed my feet back on the ground and flicked open the button on my jeans.     The Traveling Man (The Traveling Duet, #1) Now Available - Amazon US | Amazon UK | B&N traveling man I was ordinary. Nice. He was extraordinary. And he wasn’t always nice. Moody and difficult, brilliant and beautiful, Kes scared me and he protected me. He could be incredibly hurtful and incredibly thoughtful.
