Oh my goodness this book as left me feeling full and empty both at the same time you can expect so much love and angst at the same time but what an amazing set of characters Livy and Slade are.

Livy is young, very carefree and isn't afraid to speak her mind even when she spots the hot weird dude in class with his dog she is intrigued by him and the rumours that are circulating about him and Livy makes it her business to get to know him or at least try... Slade is a man of very few words but for some reason Livy is burrowing herself into his life but can he afford for her to find out his secrets and keep her safe too.

A deeply moving story that completely captivates you I love Jewel. E. Ann's books and the spin she always put into the plot lines this is definitely a book I would read again.

After their kissy-huggy greeting ended, they walked toward the house with Jericho in tow. I waited for him to glance back at me. He saw me. There was no way he passed me a few seconds earlier on the street and didn’t see me. Yet, he made no attempt to acknowledge me. 

Until … 

My boy Jerry stopped abruptly and turned like he caught whiff of my scent. All the warm fuzzies filled my chest. A dog gave me more feels than any man had given me in a long time. Maybe ever. 

Jericho liked me. Hell, maybe he loved me. 

He protected me. 

He smiled when he saw me—tongue out, tail in a low wag. I continued my way up the sidewalk, feigning surprise when he trotted toward me in spite of Slade barking his own command. 

“Hey, Jerry.” I squatted down to give him double the love Miss Sophisticated gave him … and I had a treat in my pocket because part of me anticipated—hoped for—a chance encounter. “Oh, buddy … I love you too.” I closed my eyes and turned my face side to side while he showered me with kisses.

Slade cleared his throat. 

I opened my eyes—noticing his friend must have gone inside. “Sorry.” I stood, sliding a treat into Jericho’s mouth along the way. “I know it’s hard for you to know he likes me more.” On a shrug, I bit my lips together to keep my shit-eating grin under control. 

“Inside,” he said to Jericho while looking at me. 

Jericho turned and headed to the back door. 

“If you have a job to do … Jerry can hang with me tonight. I’m alone this evening.” 

“Jericho. And he doesn’t need a babysitter.” 

“Maybe I do.” 

His brow tensed a fraction, contemplation settling into a slight frown for a few seconds, before he whistled and Jericho came running. “Send him home when your friends get back.” 

Why was the only word that sat on the tip of my idle tongue? Why protect me? 

“What are you going to do?” Okay, apparently “why” wasn’t the only word on the tip of my tongue after all. Six other words were in line first. 

“Does it matter?” 

Letting my gaze settle over his shoulder to the firehouse and images of Miss Sophisticated waiting for him, I lifted a single shoulder. “No. Just curious. Is she your girlfriend?” 

“Does it matter?” 

“I hate you.” I rolled my eyes. “Worst communication skills ever.” 

“Good. Hate me. I prefer it.” 

I recoiled. I didn’t really hate anyone. It wasn’t my personality to be hateful, vengeful, or hold grudges. Why did Slade Wylder want me to hate him? It was a joke. I hated his lack of sharing information. 

“If you’re selling her some shit that will ruin her life, may I suggest you rethink that? Not cool, Wylder.” 

“Noted.” 

Tipping my chin up, I gave him several tiny nods. “Okay then. I’ll take Jerry to my house and spoil him. Maybe he comes back to you … maybe he doesn’t.” 

Slade let his gaze slide down my body, a slow and easy trip. He didn’t do that when we met. Somewhere along the way, he decided it was okay. I wasn’t sure what reaction he desired from me. 

Maybe nothing. 

Maybe he did it out of pure selfish desire. 

“I’m only allowing this because I love Jerry.” 

Curious eyes met mine, slightly squinted. 

I smirked. “Stripping me with those eyes of yours.” 

Moments … 

I collected moments in my mind, my heart, my soul, like Aubrey collected rare coins—my mom dying, my dad spending a few years thoroughly drunk. Mostly bad moments—permanent scars. 

That moment I tucked into my memory forever as one of the first truly great moments.  

Wylder …

The corners of his mouth quirked into pure sin. If Satan was hot as fuck, his name would have been Slade Wylder, and I would have been in a whole helluva lot of trouble.

Laney is a very confident person but she was widowed at a very young age this make her very hesitant to start a new relationship but when she meets Cole she can't help but take a shine to him.

Coke's handsome and has all the right moves, but he's also sweet and caring.

Could he be just what Laney needs to prove that she can love again.

Another sweet and swoony romance that I adored.

The Resist Duet from K.L Shandwick is James and Tricia's story.

These are two characters that we met previously in the Dare Duet and I will admit that I wasn't too keen on Trica to begin with but this book has most definitely changed that.

We learn that Trica has had to deal with a lot of heartache in her life that she has never told anyone about and it helps you understand why she is like she is.

James hasn't always had it easy either, past decisions caused him to be estranged from his brother for a lot of years but slowly they have rebuilt that relationship, that's how he meets Tricia. Soon James becomes Tricia's rock as their love for each other grows and Tricia discovers that she can lean on others she doesn't have to carry all these burdens on her own.

K.L Shandwick never ceases to amaze me with the depth, strength and vulnerability she shows in the characters she creates and the emotions in her story telling. All these factors make for the perfection of her books.

Meet the Author

Writing came relatively later in life for K.L. Shandwick after a challenge by a friend led to The Everything Trilogy. She loves creating new characters and story lines. Her characters have flaws and she hopes this helps the connection between them and her readers. I'm a new reader to Jessica Ames so wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I loved every minute of Ravage.

I loved Sasha and Tyler they were made for each other but devastating actions had kept them apart for the last three years but now Sasha is back and she needs Tyler's help even if it means she has to face her demons.

A fantastic story and I cannot wait to read more in the Untamed Sons MC series in the future.

EXCERPT

As I push the button for a white coffee with sugar, I hear a voice behind me.

“Sasha.”

Even after all this time, even after all the hurt, he has the power to make the apex between my legs throb with anticipation. Slowly, I turn from the machine and come face to face with Rav. My heart twitches as I take him in. He looks the same as he did when I saw him at the compound, but he doesn’t look like my Tyler, not anymore. He’s bigger, brawnier and wears a permanent scowl etched onto his handsome face. His worn and battered kutte fits him like it’s moulded to his frame, the ‘President’ patch on the front a stark reminder of the man he is. Regret surges through me, followed by remorse. I shouldn’t have let things get this far.

“Ty…” I breathe his name, trying to recapture my equilibrium. No one else can knock me off target like him. He still has the ability to bring me to my knees. He can still stir my desire and make me want him, even when he’s snarling at me.

Today, his long dark hair is loose around his shoulders, which accentuates that beard he’s wearing. He looks wild. It’s a good look on him.

And just like that ice fills my veins and my desire washes away, because his words cut me to the bone. Once, I was the only person allowed to call him Tyler. Ryder is the second book in the Merrick Brothers series. I knew from the glimpses we got of Ryder in his brothers book, Knox that his story would be a complete rollercoaster of emotions and I was correct. This book literally ripped my heart to shreds it wasn't the story I was expecting but it definitely didn't disappoint.

When Ryder and Kailey first met at a music festival Kailey had no idea the Ryder was a very famous Country Music star they spent the night together but the next morning Kailey woke up alone. Now she's back at one of his concerts and they need to talk how will their lives and possible relationship pan out when truths are set free.

A beautifully written heartbreaking story that I just couldn't put down. This is definitely one of my favourite reads for 2020

I really enjoyed Ryder's story which is book 2 in the Merrick Brothers Series and Ryder who is a Country music star who lives to play his guitar and sing to his fans but he's 30 now and being on the road is slowly taking its toll on him.

I absolutely love Kailey she has morals and believes in them wholeheartedly so when she meets a guy during a storm at a festival for one night her morals disappear Ryder's a hot guy and they have an instant connection between them both.

After one of the best days and night of her life she's left disappointed when Ryder breaks his promise so armed with her new degree she aims to find a job and forget about Ryder only she can't when she learns she's pregnant.

Now two months later she's at one of Ryder's concerts to give him the news, that he's going to be a Daddy but she doesn't need him she just wants to do the right thing by informing Ryder.

I loved how Ryder stepped up after learning the news that he will be a father and he wants to get to know Kailey better and this entails lots of fun, laughter and happiness, I'm so glad they found their flappy ending. Thankyou Prescott Lane for such a fantastic story.
