So let me start by saying that after reading the amazing Scattered Colors (book 1) I was a little apprehensive about reading Cassidy's story as she really wasn't my favorite person but OMG!! I'm so glad i did. This book is set 4 years later and Cassidy has had some drastic changes in her life, its been hard but with the love of her aunt, uncle and some fabulous friends she has grown up so much and become a much better person than she was in her teenage years.
Carson has spent most of his life in the foster care system and it definitely hasn't been easy for him now along with his foster sister Navie they are building a new life for themselves but something is missing for Carson cold that something be Cassidy?
I loved this book it deals with serious issues and will definitely tug at your heartstrings, I also have to say Cassidy has become my favorite character so far in this series along with a very adorable 3 year old that can't pronounce her Rs. Although this book can be read as a standalone i would recommend you read them in order starting with Scattered Colors.

Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That's why God created central air, after all.
In addition to being a wife and mom, she's also a wino, a coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books--romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it's a passion...there's a difference. Not that she'd expect a boy to understand.
Jessica has been writing since she was a little girl, but thankfully grew out of drawing her own pictures for her stories before ever publishing her first book. Because an artist she is not.
