 Excerpts:
I was an addict.
Sophia didn’t know this about me when we met – when I stole her heart.
I struggle every day with my sobriety, and Sophia is my compass. She’s what keeps me grounded and always points me in the right direction. She doesn’t nag or yell but smothers me in her love and understanding.
Sophia asked to hear my story, my past. She wanted to know everything about mewhat led me to her. I gave her a condensed version – one that is closer to PG-13 compared to the NC-17 reality that I lived. No matter how much the person you love the most, the one who is the center of your universe asks about your past, you never give the full truth. I never want Sophia to compare herself to any of the women or experiences that I’ve had before her. Sophia is perfection in my eyes. No one could ever compare to her.
I’d like to say my life began again when I met Sophia, that I was given a clean slate. Sophia met me at the point in my life where I had given up on love. My life consisted of work and pleasure – pleasure from the unattached sexual relationships and the booze that had filled my nights.
When my life spiraled out of control, Sophia caught me in her web of security and love. She is my savior, the only thing that is true in my life. She can’t know my entire story. Who would want to know the true story of the love of their life, the father of their child?
The thought of Sophia being with another man makes my skin crawl and pisses me off. She’s mine, and I’d like to think that I’ve been the only man in her life and the first one to taste her, but I know I’m lying to myself. Ignorance is bliss, and I’d rather stay in the dark.
After our child was born, I thought it was necessary to get help to control my drinking. I needed to make sure I never walked down the path of self-destruction again. I had too much to lose. For the first time in my life, there was something more important than myself or even Sophia. There’s a tiny little life that depends on me and needs my love and adoration.
I didn’t want to go to group counseling – I’ve done that before, and it sucked; it wasn’t more than a temporary fix. I needed something to get to the root of my addiction and allow me to find other ways to cope with the pressures in life besides at the bottom of a bottle. The counselor told me to write down the major events in my life – the ones that caused my drinking to go out of control or drove me to drink. He said I needed to understand the cycle. What came first – the booze or the problems? He asked me to write a journal about my life. Everyone who I could remember that triggered my drinking, use of drugs, and events that were caused by my addiction that had an impact on my life. I didn’t see the use in writing it for someone else to read and analyze, but he said I would understand it in time.
Where do I start the tangled mess that was my life? Do I start with my first taste of booze, the first sniff of coke, or the crazy bitches I’ve experienced? There will be bits that I leave out; things I don’t want the world to know. I’ve included the ones that show what has molded me into the man I am today. The ones that will fill in the gaps on my troubled journey that Sophia and I overcame and show the depths of my depravity and addiction before Sophia walked into my life and turned my world upside down.
I’ll start at the beginning, what led me off the path of righteousness through my moment of self-destruction and finally salvation in the arms of a loving woman too good to be mine.

Amanda's Review :

5 Wonderfully Amazing Stars!

Chelle Bliss has done it again with Kayden – the past.   Kayden captured our hearts in Untangle me but if you haven’t read that don’t worry this can also be a stand-alone novel, and you don’t really need to have read the first book to read Kayden.
Kayden Michaels, is a man who gets his first taste of alcohol from his parents cabinet, like any typical teenager, but once he gets it he’s hooked, and then his parent’s marriage falls apart and his world starts to tumble as well.  Despite everything that has happened in Kayden’s past he pulls through it thanks to a woman who steals his heart and believes in him.
Kayden’s past is marred with drugs, alcohol, and women who don’t put him first, his first love cheats, his first wife leaves, and his next girlfriend is a crazy psychotic witch.  Kayden struggles with his life and how to make it worth living.  In Untangle Me, Sophia describes her life before Kayden as being navy blue, why because it’s such a boring color, in Kayden – the past we learn Kayden’s life has never been navy blue.  It has been a whirl wind or colors.
Kayden relives his most intimate moments in this book and he shows you what makes him who he is, and Chelle does a great job showing the emotions Kayden feels throughout his life, some of his experiences will leave you raw and emotional just like Kayden.  I commend Chelle for another job well done, and I cannot wait to hear more from her.

About the Author:

I have been a teacher for over ten years, and needed a creative outlet for all my naughty thoughts. I received a bachelors degree in History and a Masters in Education, which led me to becoming a high school history teacher.

I love to read, I can devour a book a day, when given the chance or having the time. I can't pick one favorite book, there are just too many that come to mind. I do have favorite authors though. My top five authors are: Colleen Hoover, S.C. Stephens, Tarryn Fisher, CJ Roberts, and Kele Moon. I agonized over the top five. There are so many fantastic Indie authors that help feed my quest for the next best story.

Writing has been a journey unlike; filled with anguish, love, fear, and creativity. I'm excited for the next step and to share Kayden and Sophia.

Interview :
Q - What made you decide to write a book?

A - I thought I had a great idea for story and started to write it down. I let it develop over time and shared it with some friends and my journey began.

Q - The story of Kayden and Sophia is set in New Orleans, LA. Is this a place that you hold dear to your heart?

A - It is. I love New Orleans. It's unlike any other city in the world. It has a romance and an indescribable energy and romance to it. I can't wait to go there in February.

Q - Now, I am sure lots of us want to know this… Where does your inspiration for Kayden come from?

A - My inspiration for Kayden came from my boyfriend. He's loving and caring like Kayden. Every day he shows me the love that I'm able to write and the passion that I can put on the page. Without him none of it would have been possible.

Q - Is the story of Kayden and Sophia your real life love story?

A - It's loosely based on events in my real life. No I've never beaten someone over the head with a candlestick, but I do own said crystal candle stick. Our journey began online with him in New Orleans and me in Florida, but from there the story goes haywire and off script. There are other bits that are true, but those are only for him and I to know which ones.

Q - Okay everyone’s thinking it… Did you want to kill Lisa, and is she based off of someone really?

A - I did want to kill Lisa. In one of the drafts I did kill her, but a couple people said that it would change Sophia forever and I had to change the ending. She is based off someone - my mans ex-girlfriend in fact. She's crazy as hell.

Q - Is it hard writing a book in Kayden’s POV? To get into all the crazyness that has made Kayden who he is?

A - I found his part easier to write than Sophia's. Maybe I'm half crazy. If I was born a guy I would've definitely had a much wilder ride in life than I lived. His story just flowed for me.

Q - Can I ask for a little sneak peek into Throttle Me? Or is that asking too much?

A - It's never too much. Hmm. Where do I begin? Throttle Me will be the first book in a spin off series separate from the Love at Last series. It will be about Suzy and City and their journey of trust and love. It will be the first book in the Men of Inked series and will revolve around a family owned tattoo shop called Inked.  Sneak peek? Please remember this hasn't been through editing and I barely proofread it, but here goes nothing:

He had almost a cocky grin like he knew something I didn’t, but I’d find out quickly. I unbutton his jeans and slowly unzipped them with fingers more steady than I thought would be possible. I could see from the slight opening that he didn’t have on any underwear as I saw peeks of hair that trailed down to his manhood. I pulled open his pants and grabbed the sides to remove them. His cock sprang free and my heart stopped. What the fuck, Jesus.
“What the…” I couldn’t do anything but stare in wonderment. Not only was the man blessed with a well-endowed cock, but he added to it, decorated it.
“You can touch it.” He said with a low quiet laugh. “It won’t hurt you,” he said as he thrust his abdomen in my direction.
“I’ve never.” I reached out and ran my finger across the shiny metal jutting from the top of his cock.  The piercing went straight through from top to bottom with little balls on either side.
“Will I feel it?” I felt like a complete idiot, but I’d never seen one in person let alone had sex with someone that had extra parts.

Q - Okay last one, if you could say anything to your fans what would it be?

A - I love you and I thank you for all of your support. I write for the readers and want to make the stories as enjoyable as possible.

Kayden

Q - What first drew you to Sophia?

A - She's beautiful. Her looks drew me to her, but her brains captured me. She is one of the most pure human beings I've ever met.

Q - Everyone wants to know so I’ll ask…. What is it about always being naked?

A - What can I say? It's more comfortable. Now, if I could only get Sophia to feel the same we'd be in business.

Q - Tootsie Roll pop reference? Did you at least blush a little telling that experience in your life?

A - To Chelle? Hell no. She was cracking up when I told her the story. I rarely get embarrassed. It's who I am.

Q - Telling your story for the first time, are you afraid of people opinions, like Sophia’s?

A - Everyone has an opinion. They either love me or hate me. Just remember - people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. No one's perfect, I never pretend to be. I am who I am and without all the bullshit I wouldn't appreciate my life as much as I do now.

Q - We’ve all seen how sweet you can be with Sophia, but honestly which do you rather? Soft and sweet, or hard and dirty.

A - Depends on the mood. Sometimes I want to make love to her, but other times... Sometimes I just want to pull her hair and make her scream. It's always different and I love that about us.

Q - I’ll stop after this one… How’s it feel to know your bringing a little one into the mix? I bet your both excited… and congrats on that.

A - Thanks! The baby has brought more joy into our lives than I ever thought possible. I'm in awe of Sophia and the mother that she is to our baby. The baby has brought us closer together and a part of us will always live on.

Sophia

Q - With the release of Kayden’s story, are you nervous or frightened to know about his past?

A - Oh I have no doubts on the what his past entailed. He's a complicated and a beautiful fucked up man, but he's right for me. He's given me more than I could ever imagine. There is never a boring day with Kayden in my life. I wouldn't change him for anything in the world.

Q - Are you even going to read that book?

A - Shhh... Don't tell, but I already have. ;)

Q - Are you glad you answered that message on face book that day?

A - I was so closed to blocking him and I'm thankful each day that I didn't. Who knows where I'd be if I had.

Q - Let’s talk about the dirt… how’s Kayden in bed (just between us girls)

A - Mindblowing. The man takes my breath away every time. Sometimes when we kiss and he's making love to me I open my eyes. I love to watch his face and look at his lips. After all this time I can't get enough of the man.  I can't even begin to tell you about him in the sack. The curve you may ask. That shit is real and Ahmazing!

Q - And now the crazy… How was dealing with Lisa?

A - She's in jail now and I plan to fight an early release. I'll always look over my shoulder. She's one of the craziest people I've ever known. She's clueless.

Q - Does Kayden still have problems with alcohol? And if so does that worry you with you expecting?

A - Alcoholism doesn't come and go. It's a daily struggle, but it's a battle he's winning. When he found out that I was going to have his baby, he set the bottle down and hasn't picked it up since. It's something we have to deal with in the future, but I'm proud of him. He'll bring up how many months he's been sober, but I try not to remind him. Each day is a new challenge and he's winning the battle. He's an amazing father and a fabulous partner.
